Dimensions

Z (Z-Score): Standard score in value range 70-130 (M=100, SD=10); PR (percentile rank): Share in reference group with a score that is at most as high.

Instructions

CONFIDENCE is processed randomly, in Likert scale format. Following an introductory instruction, individual job-related statements (items) are specified, which must be evaluated on a 7-level scale with regard to agreement/disagreement. All items of the item pool are in random order. The presentation typically takes place together with other personality scales in a test module. The items from the various tests are mixed together to reduce fatigue and transparency and thus socially desired response behaviour.

Theoretical background

The development of the CONFIDENCE test is based on research on the so-called Core Self-Evaluations. These self-assessments include, in particular, a person's convictions of their own performance and self-esteem. With a very positive self-assessment, a person believes in themselves and their ability to overcome challenges. They are convinced that they are able to successfully complete tasks themselves. This confidence has a significant impact on professional success and job satisfaction. Those who have a high level of confidence in their own performance are optimistic about challenges and are convinced that they can also successfully deal with unknown professional situations.

Convincing yourself to successfully master challenges is an important prerequisite for success in all professions and at all hierarchical levels. Therefore, the procedure is suitable for use both in personnel selection and in internal potential analysis.
